Keep Your Carpet Clean -
Spot Removal Guide

There are various ways you can clean up a spill or accident. No matter what method you choose a couple of rules always apply. First, always clean up any solid first before starting to clean the stain. Second, use white towels to soak up any moisture. Third, NEVER rub at a stain, just apply pressure. Placing a towel over the stain weighted down with books is a great method. Finally, add small amounts of the cleaning solution at a time working from the outside into the center of the stain.

You may have to repeat the cleaning procedures multiple times before a spot will be removed. Let the area air dry or speed dry with a fan.

Some spots require special professional care. If the spot is not removed by the prescribed products, we recommend you call us for a recommendation.

Method 1: Use a dry cleaning solvent. Apply a small amount of dry cleaning solution at a time to prevent damaging the backing and always follow the manufacturer's directions.

Method 2: Mix one teaspoon of neutral detergent to a cup of hot water. Your dish soap is an example of a neutral detergent. You should avoid using harsh detergents.

Method 3: Mix one teaspoon of white household ammonia with one-half cup of hot water.

Method 4: Mix one-third cup of white household vinegar with two-thirds cup of hot water.

Method 5: Mix a solution of enzyme detergent. Follow the manufacturer's directions. Some laundry detergents contain enzymes. Pet stores or your veterinarian may carry more enzyme cleaners.

Remember, NEVER put more solution in your carpet than you can extract and call us if you have any questions!
